Dear KUN:ST friends,

We wish you all a wonderful new year! May it bring good health and an easier social interaction as well as success and new creational power.

Despite all difficulties, the year 2021 was a good year for the association. In spite of Corona, we held several exhibitions, we awarded the 2021 Art Prize with a corresponding exhibition at ARTe Wiesbaden, and the gallery was also open all year except for the lockdown weeks. We recently closed the year with our traditional Merry Christmas exhibition, which also went very well on the whole, despite all the pandemic-related complications. We are pleased that our long-standing customers remained loyal to us and that we sold a total of 25 works of art. This is a good average value and, in view of the pandemic circumstances, we consider it a conciliatory end to the year.

Now our views turn to the future:

Our Art Year 2022 begins on 9 January 2022 with the opening of the exhibition "The New Ones". Dates and contents are available at

Baden-Württemberg is currently on alert level II. For the commercial sector and thus also for the gallery in Leonberg, access during opening hours is only possible on the basis of 2G (vaccinated or recovered). Indoor events are permissible on the basis of 2G up to a maximum of 500 people at half capacity.

These capacity restrictions mean that we can admit a maximum of 20 people to the gallery in Leonberg at a time. In order to nevertheless be able to welcome the same number of people, we are offering the identical welcome address at two time slots for the opening of the exhibition 'The New Ones', on Sunday, 9 January 2022:

Opening at 11.15 a.m. or
Opening at 1.15 p.m.

So far, only the earlier date has been advertised in public. This does not mean that the second date cannot also be communicated. It is only important that the maximum number of persons is observed. We therefore kindly ask our members to inform us by a short, informal e-mail of the desired time and the number of people to be expected, so that we obtain two groups of approximately the same size.

In the hope that circumstances will improve again, we will hold a midissage for the exhibition "The New Ones" on Sunday, 6 February 2022 and combine it with the opening of the special exhibition "Matrix Earth" with artworks by Jörg Kraus, Heidelberg.

Art in Transition

The remaining programme of exhibitions in our gallery is complete and has been published on our website. We would like to draw particular attention to the exhibition "Art in Transition" – the last exhibition in our gallery in Leonberg, which we plan to organise once again as a large group exhibition from 21 April to 5 June 2022. We will produce a catalogue for this exhibition as a document and testimony of our activities in Leonberg.

Please note: Deadline for registration is 31 March 2022!

Art Award 2022

What else will the year 2022 bring? – After closing the gallery in Leonberg, we will return to our beginnings and organise exhibition projects without a permanent venue. There will also be another art award exclusively for our members in 2022. The works will be exhibited in August at the Orangerie in Schwetzingen and directly afterwards at ARTe Wiesbaden. We will announce the details of the Art Award 2022 in the course of January.

Spring Cleaning

We would also like to point out our annual "Spring Cleaning" campaign to update our digital exhibition "Aufbruch". All artists of the association can register for the digital exhibition until 28 February 2022 or inform us of their change requests to the already existing presentation on the site.

In these times it is important to stay in digital dialogue. For this we have our online overview of our key topics:
Now all that remains is to wish you a good start to the new year. We look forward to a good cooperation and for hopefully many personal meetings again!
